Meet the Referential Team: Emily Duguid

EMILY ON VACATION

Emily joined Referential as a Customer Advocacy Consultant after a career spanning project and program management, partner relations, and talent pipeline recruiting. She pulls threads from each of these past lives to support her clients and their sales organizations through the recruitment of customer advocates.

From project managing newzealand.com; to managing international internship programs for global organizations such as Cadbury Schweppes, HP, and the World Health Organization; to building diversity recruiting pipelines for HP; to running formal dinners, an elementary school Running Club, and events of all sizes in between; to scheduling practices and games for 13 lacrosse teams, Emily has thrived in her multitude of roles by bringing macro thinking and micro execution to complex challenges.

Emily enjoys meeting new people and making connections for mutual advantage. She likens recruiting customer advocates to being a maître d'hôtel in a top restaurant: welcoming newcomers with individual attention and finding them a desirable table with stimulating dining companions.

Emily was drawn to Referential as it’s elevating the art and science of customer advocacy; defining the discipline and taking the function to a new level with the development of training to support the Institute of Certified Customer Advocacy Professionals’ certification tiers. She is thrilled to be part of a team with such breadth and depth of knowledge and experience in the field.

EMILY AND HER FAMILY ON VACATION

Emily is CCAP I certified, has a Bachelor of Commerce in International Business from Victoria University of Wellington, and is an Alumni of AIESEC New Zealand and AIESEC International.

A born and raised Kiwi, Emily has lived and worked in New Zealand, the Netherlands, and the US, and has traveled for work and adventure to more than 80 countries. She has worked remotely for over 20 years, adapting with the times from dialing in to conference calls with a calling card, to joining online meetings with the clicking of a link and toggling on of a video.

After 14 years living just east of Seattle in Sammamish, Washington (USA), Emily now splits her time between Wanaka, New Zealand and Sammamish. With her husband, Ryan, and their two teenage boys, Emily enjoys escapes to the outdoors like skiing and hiking, and lakeside mountain town living.
